VentMedic Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Lose your certification? This is an OSHA violation, not an OEMS violation. If you read your State's (any state) statutes, there will be this statement made for the licensing, denial or revocation of an ambulance's license/certification for transport. violation of OSHA or other federal standards that it is required to meet in the provision of the EMS service. You violate OSHA regs and your ambulance service can be penalized severely. The other consequence will be the hospitals and facilities that contract with you for transport may drop your service when they hear it has been cited for this OSHA violation. Infection control is a hot issue and a source of denial for payment to hospitals by insuring agencies including Medicare.
mrmeaner Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 When I was on the road touring with bands, one lead singer -- who shall remain nameless -- bought several pounds of crawfish to bring back to Texas from Louisiana. She stuck them in the microwave to keep them from stinking up the bus. Then she forgot about them when we got back to Texas, and they festered in the microwave, in Texas summer weather, for a week. When we got back into the bus the next weekend, we about died from the smell. You would NOT want to be remembered for doing that in an ambulance! Dude. What job have you not had?
Canadian Caesar Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Dude. What job have you not had? President? Hmmmm... Dustdevil 2012!!!! Has a ring to it! If anybody could beat Obama...
mrmeaner Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 If anybody could beat Obama Looks like there will be a long line of people waiting to do that.
mediccjh Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 I thought I taught you better. Jim's. 4th and South. Pat's and Geno's are overrated.

FireMedic65 Posted March 9, 2009 Author Posted March 9, 2009 Never been to Jim's bud. It has been a few years since I been down to Philly, and I wasn't driving. But in my defense, I did say "probably"
crotchitymedic1986 Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Could you clarify: "i was on a long transport and picked up some food"; were you patient loaded at the time ?
FireMedic65 Posted March 9, 2009 Author Posted March 9, 2009 Could you clarify: "i was on a long transport and picked up some food"; were you patient loaded at the time ? Oh no, sorry. We got the food on our way back. No patient.
WelshMedic Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 The best time to visit Jim's is a summer evening. After eating the culinary equivalent of Nirvana you then walk it off by sauntering through South Street whilst people watching and visiting all the quaint boutique stores. You can finish up by visiting any one of the bars or restaurants on the street, although this is a personal favorite of mine: http://www.gethappypub.com/ WM
