From the name, one could guess I'm new to all of this. I'm in EMT-Basic training in Guilford County North Carolina right now. I'll be certified in May and I will be moving to the New Haven, CT area afterwards. I searched, but to no avail. Just wondering if there is a chance they would reject my application for a CT license after I take my National Registry exam. The Department of Health website doesn't have any other real requirements but I didn't know if there was any thing else I could do to make my chances stronger. Thanks.

Did you look here? If you don't find the information you need on the web site there is a phone number for the office. I'm sure a phone call can clear things up quite nicely.

Good luck.

With a national registry number you should have no problem getting certified (not licensed) in CT. I'm not affiliated directly with the office of emergency medical services of course, but I can say with a pretty high degree of certainty that if you've got your national reg, all they really care about is collecting their fee.

Thanks, I think I phrased my question wrong but you guys gave me the answer I needed! Just really wanted to know if I had to take the CT EMT Test.
