Dustdevil Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 I was just on my way here to post this story. What a crock of shyte. I guess this will keep me out of medical school now.
Richard B the EMT Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 The "Afrikaners", who are of Dutch/Netherlands decent, are "White Africans", just not "Black Africans". While not an Afrikaner, I believe him to be a White African/American.
WolfmanHarris Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 For rant, please see affirmative action thread. Will add more later. For now I will resist to avoid more cursing. Friggin idiotic.
Diazepam618 Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I hope this guy gets his degree and mutiple millions of dollars.
HERBIE1 Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Now we see a perfect example of why these arbitrary- and completely inaccurate- labels should be banned. Do you think people from Egypt, or those from a North African country, or even South Africa- call themselves African Americans? Of all people, they SHOULD have that title, if we are determined to use it. Once again, be careful what questions you ask- you might not like the answers. Just like the Miss USA pageant- the poor woman was asked a question, she answered it, and was vilified for it.
mperkel Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Personally, I'm a White African/American! My parents and grandparents were born and raised in South Africa. My family immigrated to America, and now we are US Citizens here. I believe it makes me African-American. I can never put it in for demographics purposes because most forms say this: African-American (Black)
njmedic1485 Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 (edited) Okay, for the record this happened in Northern New Jersey, which, as everyone knows bears no resemblance to the rest of the state. Edited May 18, 2009 by njmedic1485
