How many times have any of us were doing exactly what this Medic was doing? In the warmer months you could have the bay doors open and you and maintaining your vehicle or have it pulled half way out while washing it and for no reason get attacked. i know a few guys that were approached but those were personal beefs.

Possible attempted theft, especially drug related, someone drunk, etc. Guess it's getting to where you have to watch eech other's backs, even at your base station.

May have to have arm the medics and have one of them be standing guard duty while the other checks the ambulance or if staging while one sleeps other stays alert and prepared to shoot all that approach.

The interesting part is this particular neighborhood isn't terrible. It's pretty much a long drag of shops and such surrounded by suburbia.

WOW!!!! We are not even safe in our own buildings anymore. What is the next step for all EMS providers? Do we start carrying pepper spray or stun guns? Next we will have to start using door codes to get out of the bay for emergency calls, too.
