chaser Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Men live longer in general if they are married, and are more likely to remarry upon divorce. Why not? Someone to take care of you? And work and take care of the house and kids? There are many studies to back this up. To extrapulate data from Denmark and relate it to the entire world is not relevant. Apples and oranges to relate it to the states. Age thing. Men hit their sexual peek at teens through around 25. Women, around 35- 40 and up. Think these old men can keep up?? No way.

Maybe, or maybe not, but we sure have fun trying! George Burns used to say, he, at age 80, still chased women, he just couldn't remember why. And, as a mention, Lady J is 5 months my senior, my ex fiancee is a year and a half, and the first woman I asked to marry me (damn, I got the "Let's just be friends" speech), instead of being 2 years my junior, was a year older (Read the book "Lost Bird" by Yvette Melanson for explanation, and no, I am not mentioned in the book).
Richard B the EMT Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 That's a trophy if you're in high school. Otherwise, it's an albatross. I don't know. He was 18 and she was a divorced 40, back 1977 or so. I just found out she just died of cancer, and he is grieving. Sometimes it works out, despite the naysayers. On a different take, if the couple really should get divorced, it might not cause the male to live longer, it will just seem that way for the dude.
JPINFV Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I heard that the new match maker's vehicle looks like this:
AnthonyM83 Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 To extrapulate data from Denmark and relate it to the entire world is not relevant. Apples and oranges to relate it to the states. Definitely relevant. Yes, data is taken from a different population, but it's logical to think there will be some similiarities. The culture is different, but also similar enough to assume there is similar (even if not exact) trends in the US.

Us men hit our sexual peak around 18. and it only lasts for about 2 seconds. Women seem to hit their sexual peak between 30-40 and it lasts for several years. (hardly seems fair in my book!), but as a man, I have to say that as I've gotten older, my focus has shifted from 'quantity' to 'quality'..... Walter on marriage
