I need some info. I am a full time paramedic that was just diagnosed with Parsonage-Turner Syndrome. I just spent 16 days in the hospital (which obviously sucked). I was wondering if anyone has had any dealings with this syndrome and if so any tips on faster recovery. My phrenic nerve has been affected and now my diaphram is paralyzed along with muscles in both shoulders. And now I am obviously unable to work 'til fully healed, which I have learned could be 3-5 years. So anyone with tips would be great. Oh, and yes I am doing PT every other day and on my own at home and staying as active as possible. Thanks in advance!!!!

Your diaphragm is paralyzed? Is that conducive with breathing?

Some quick googling revealed a wealth of information about your condition. Of course, your doctor should have provided you with information as well, and if he didn't, he sucks.

Good luck.
