This will be a great addition to the toolbag of paramedics who cannot intubate with a laryngoscope!

OKOK.... 12 intubations in the past week.... I may be cocky

O.R. is great for self-esteem.

Joking of course ;)

Hmmm, looks like it works in a similar way to the ILMA without the handle and the ability to ventilate prior to a blind intubation attemp. Both are serious pitfalls IMHO. Any evidence supporting the 98% success claim? The ILMA was nowhere near 98% when it first came out and it still does not have a 98% first attemp success ( varies with the study, but I accept about 90% ) with the addition of Chandy maneuver.

Take care,

chbare.

Yeah, I've tried contacting the company through their website to obtain further information, twice. No response. I guess they are selling enough of them that they don't need my money.

Not very much information about the product on the site, bar the PDF file and couple of videos. Seems if this is the revolutionary method of airway care, there would be more out there about it.

Oh well, something else that will be purchased as a fad perhaps. Put it in the trunk with the LUCAS?

Have any of you heard of this new device, a S.A.L.T. airway? If it works as advertised, it could be really useful. They claim a 98% success rate with ET intubations.

Just got my first hands on experience with it at CAP lab - seems like a sound enough principal and seemed to work reasonably well. Didn't really have much complaint, except you were forced to leave in place one you had the tube unless you want to remove connector and all. Short of that though, I liked just fine. Thanks for bringing this to the table ! Now will you please pass the SALT ?
