I've been an EMT for 8 month... I felt I like EMS and I had a plan to apply for Paramedic program soon.. but one day it happened... lifting heavy patients for many days and weeks ended up with severe pain in my lower back.. MRI results was like sentence.. L5-S1 herniation 9 mm and 2 more protrusions in thoracic spine.. my doc's words were "no more heavy lifting.. never". Now I'm done with EMS.. completely frustrated and desperated

I think you should get a second opinion. A herniated disc is not necessarily the end of your career.

Though I don't know your particular situation, I do know there are multiple treatment options available. Many people work with herniated discs without even knowing they have a problem. Hopefully you haven't given up on your career at the suggestion of one doctor.
