Anyone going this year? It is this upcoming week, so I'm surprised I haven't seen a thread about this yet. I will be going with a few friends from work, and will be competing in the JEMS Games as well.

Damn, I've been in EMS for over 7 1/2 years and I've never heard of this. It's only an hour and a half away from me without traffic. Is it at the same place and roughly the same time every year?

It has been elsewhere as well, but they've been doing it in Baltimore for the past 5 years or so. It has been in March for at least the past 4 years, usually about the same time. I think it is definitely worth the trip if you haven't been, especially since it is so close.

I'm really surprised nobody else is going, and that this hasn't even been mentioned. Whats the deal? No interest? No money? No time?

I used to go when I lived in Maryland but don't live there anymore and I'm not even in EMS anymore so there's really no point. It is a great time though if you can make it.

To anyone going: If you meet up with a guy from the FDNY EMS Command, going by the nickname of "Shaggy"(like Scooby Doo's owner), tell him you're an on line buddy of mine!

Yeah, Kate leaving MD kind of cut off the annual announcement of JEMS this year. I'm not sure why it has been there the last five years. But I suspect that is going to start killing attendance figures, if it has not already. Not that I have anything against Baltimore (I do), but once you've been there, it's time to move on. They must be getting a major kickback from the City convention bureau.

It's still winter FFS! What kind of idiots schedules a convention up in New England like that? Move it down to Vegas or Biloxi or St. Petersburg.

Since when was Maryland part of New England? And I have some slight bias against Charm City too...except that cake company they make wicked awesome cakes... Don't know anything about the politics behind having it in Baltimore so often but part of me kinda has to wonder if UMBC is having something to do with that? Just speculation though as I have absolutely no clue as to the reasons why.

Yes, and yes.

I only get 12 days off a year, have to pick and choose wisely, with 6 of them already scheduled for a vay-cay to Gatlinburg in May.
