I'm interested in enrolling in a BSEMS program in a year or so. After some searching, I decided that Creighton University in Omaha would be the best choice, since it's closest to where I live. I plan on going down to visit in a couple of weeks. But during my search, I found that institutions such as the University of Texas and the University of Utah require their applicants have their EMT-P certification at the time of enrollment into the BSEMS program. Prerequisite college coursework is also a requirement in some cases. Creighton's program is like a traditional four year program, which is the type I'm interested in. Are their any other institutions in the country that offer the same type of program as Creighton?

Loma Linda University in California has such a programme. You don't have to be a medic, however, it also does not make you a medic. It only provides a general education in EMS. Works okay in California, where few people want to go to anything more than a 12 week medic mill.

Of course, the most well known programme is at University of Maryland - Baltimore County.
