There is something to be said about common sense and leadership in this moment though. I do not think there is anyone who did not know that the air was unhealthy, especially in the first 48 hours after the towers fell. In hindsight though, someone should have stepped up much earlier and declared this a "recovery mission" instead of a rescue mission. This would have allowed for proper rest while waiting for needed supplies to come in. With that being said, I would have taken the same risk if it were my coworkers in the rubble.
