Pennsylvania tacks a $10 fee onto traffic citations for the "Emergency Medical Services Operating Fund". Keep speeding people, either way, we'll get your money.

I'd rather see them pulled over.. B/c when they pile it up real bad, due to our geographic location, we usually only get about one loaded mile in... from the scene to the LZ. And this year, the reckless idiots have been treating us real well. Kept us out all X-Mas Day, shooting good money into EMS, AeroMedical Fire(Rescue) and the Funeral Home.

I'm good with the police tax, but the hosemonkeys will just use their tax money to buy another truck that no one needs...

These all seem good from the outside looking in, but almost always end up as someone doing someone a favor...

I want to throw my 2 cents in on a related topic, but don't want my employer to trace it back to me. If I register a new user name with an e-mail that can't be traced back to me, I'm safe, right?

Loco, you should have just PM'd someone and had them post for you saying "from some unnamed member". Some brand new name with no other posts with an opinion now is gonna be really easily flagged.

I'd not say anything now if I were you.

Hmmm.... Let's see double taxed? One is already being taxed for supposedly to be able to provide those services? I understand the shortfall but maybe .... better management or "GULP!" contract out to private services that can provide the same or better services?..

I even noted a BEorP post the other day!

The possibility of any calls, even those where no one needed the assistance of FDNY or FDNY EMS, being charged for, is being floated as a possibility in New York City.

I had not heard of this as a statewide tax I had only heard of it being thought about in LACo. This is slightly ironic since LACo has the most man power available of most of the SoCal departments.
