Why not? There is no such thing as bad publicity, but I reserve judgment until I see the show- IF I see the show. I never saw that FSR training series- Rescue Me.

I realize EMS suffers from an identity crisis, but I think more exposure is a good thing. Apparently this new show is a comedy, so unless someone is severely dim witted, folks will understand this is not a documentary or real life account of EMS workers.

It wont work, alot of series that have been created by the Brits have been attempted by the Americans and it doesn't work or come across as it was intended. As said on the article quoted, its based on the book written by British Paramedics and the systems are different, the politics are different and frankly, British humour outshines alot of American stuff.

Hope these link but here are a couple of trailers of the British version. Seen it on UKTV here on Digital and its hilarious. And plus the Brits can take the mickey out of themselves without getting political or their knickers in a twist like Americans can.

Its like my dad said if you spent long enough doing something you have to get good at it and I mean you know, it takes time to watch all those old Rescue 911 clips :D

Yeah, the last time it worked was when Saturday Night Live came out of the Monty Python model. But even SNL sucks today.

So, I've watched the first two episodes and I've determined that this is the most accurate portrayal of EMS professionals I have ever seen. The only difference is that they are doing and saying the things that we wish we could do and say. It's funny as hell.

With this glowing recommendation, I'm going to start watching.
