Gosh, that’s a lot of gear… Expensive choice to buy and maintain an AED. Are you a police/paramedic?

pen, penlight and the mongrel pager i have to carry, other then that, nothing.

But dude, WTF? you have an AED in your personal car? trying hard much? Helll, the only reason i have a first aid kit is because it came with the car when i bought it!

I was talking to one of the instructors for the company that I work for a few months back, and I asked him if he ever came to the City. He said, "I tried it...but there are so many arrogant motherfuckers there that it made me sick to my stomach to even try and participate."

I can totally get that now... I have had my share of unkind moments during debates here, but have never really been keen on mugging the new folks...what the hell is going on? Especially from some of our strongest most confident posters. I don't see the motivation for it..

At work:

Belt:

iphone

leatherman Juice multitool

big shears

radio clip

Shirt pockets:

ear buds

notepad and pen

tim hortons gift card (just in case)

Contact/comment cards (issued by work)

Little clip on flashlight (nice and flat hides under my pocket flap)

Pant pockets:

Service reference book (directives, contact info, etc)

Drug book

Littman cardiology 3

I keep stuff on my belt so that I can toss the outer duty belt on the truck seat or over the mirror between calls and not be encumbered when I'm trying to sleep.

Off duty:

Wallet

Phone

Keys

Badge (ministry ID and service badge)

Sunglasses

I do have some gloves and probably some gauze and an emerg blanket in the emergency kit in my car. But that's shoved in with the jumper cables and various roadside crud.

OK I know it looks like I am a wacker with my vehicle I AM NOT. Being a line officer my squad requires me to carry a few essentials in case I need to respond to a scene before a rig gets there or if I need to be on scene during an MCI or fire standby thus the jump bag and radio (we dont have cheif/captain cars or trucks so its our POVs). As far as my other stuff in my truck, I think they are just basic safety equipment everyone should carry :devilish:

I also do alot of driving (110 mile commute daily) and come across a few MVAs so it is nice to have a few things if need be but thats just me

Yeah, im arrogant i get that.

But still, so much great stuff comes out of this site why would you ditch it based on a selection of negative comments? Seriously, if we had the same tree huggin "everyone tries there hardest so dont criticize it hurts my feelings" BS that other sites like EMTlife have id pack up and leave.

If you want honest, come to the city, if you want someone to piss in your pocket, go somewhere else.
