Hello all, I am developing an Android app for paramedics and wanted to ask if there is a standard IV set most medics use? If so, what is the most common drop factor of that set? Would appreciate if you could let me know what your company uses most, thanks!

we use whatever the hospital buys and puts on the restock cart by the ER doors for us. Usually 60 and 15 drop sets.

60s and 10s for the last several years.

Not sure who makes them though and don't have access to them at the moment. I don't think that there is really a standard set. At the last place I worked I started locks on everyone that I started an IV on if I had the time as out drip sets didn't match the hospitals, but our locks did.

Good luck..

Aren't administration sets pretty much universal? Of course, this would exclude 'brand speciffic' for infusion pumps...

As far as I know LS. 60, 15 and 10 gtt are the norm. We use the Alaris pumps where I'm doing critical care transports now and yeah, the IV tubing is brand specific as far as I know.

Thanks for the input guys. I have finished the app now. It can be found on the Android Market called Paramedic Meds (by Jonsap). Would appreciate input on it if anyone is interested.
