Could you use that cellophane from that pack of smokes for?

I guess it depends on what kind of device you are using ? All plastic, yes clorox will kill 99.9%, but if it has mesh or fabric in the middle (like CPR training barriers), I would not be so sure.

But here is the question I always asked my medics. Whenever they got through with an arrest, I would ask how well the cleaned their laryngoscope blades (before disposables), they would also answer that they did a good job, then I would ask them to stick the blade in their mouth. No one ever took me up on doing that, even though they had really soaked/cleaned as they should. I feel the same way about these barrier devices.

Very good point but it makes me wonder, did the medics not trust the science or were they just nasty?

New equipment and no M2M. 10-4.

Probably a little of both, but i believed it was more about not trusting the science, and the integrity of the cleaning agent used (usually in a gallon jug out in the bay, exposed to temperature extremes).

We use disposable metal as well.

I am confident I can clean them adaquetly. Would I put it in my mouth? Of course not. But it is psycological reasons, not disinfectant reasons. I use silverware at restaurants.... how is that any different?

Maybe if you're demonstrating something from the Vietnam era. You could carry a key chain barrier device? Or a list of area funeral homes.

I've seen plastic, disposable blades.
