Looking at a trip in the next few years to Australia/New Zealand. As we begin our plans, the question comes up as the best time of the year to travel.

For the locals, your thoughts?

Just a mention that when north of the equator is in winter, Austrailia and New Zealand are in their summer.

Where's Aussiephil when we need him? :iiam:

I've got friends on both sides of Oz but to date, have yet to travel there myself. Within the next two years :)

so what are you looking to do

if you want to ski, come in our winter

you want sun and heat....summer

if doing the tourist thing, early autum or mid spring would be the best for comfort, but not everything is happening at some times

like i said depends on what you want to do/ see

Do you want to hunt, fish, feed the crocks, feed the great whites or just hang out?

That's too funny. Oh, you were serious...giggle.

You see, I'm probably more of a "just hang out" kind of person.

Actually, it would be a group tour thing. So, trying to determine the best weather...not too cool...not too hot...and a low number of mosquitos. :D

You know ... swim in the river = feed the crocks. swim in the ocean = feed the sharks.

Maby you should consider Alabama instead.
