island emt Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I'm thinking it's a combination of the salts and nitrites used in curing that would cause the vasoconstriction..
ERDoc Posted January 26, 2012 Author Posted January 26, 2012 I still have no idea what you said in any of your posts, and I even read them out loud in my best Aussie accent. Yeah, I know that NZ and Australia are different countries, but I don't know what a New Zealand accent sounds like, so I estimated. This is the only way I can communicate with him. Give it a try. http://www.chemistry.co.nz/kiwi.htm
CPhT Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 This is the only way I can communicate with him. Give it a try. http://www.chemistry.co.nz/kiwi.htm Wow, and I thought Cockney rhyming slang made no sense... Silly blokes.
Kiwiology Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I'm thinking it's a combination of the salts and nitrites used in curing that would cause the vasoconstriction.. Isn't nitrate a vasodilator? This is the only way I can communicate with him. Give it a try. http://www.chemistry.co.nz/kiwi.htm Partial credit, we don't use all of them Trust Emergentologists with four years of post-graduate training to need a translation guide ....
Eydawn Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 OH. Oh my God. Now, first of all, I wonder just exactly what those special circumstances were. Second, NO, no sane woman would ever put bacon in her vag. Just saying. We send people to the looney bin for putting odd objects in that orifice... were I doing an intake assessment, bacon tampon would be an automatic criteria for "private room admission ASAP" and a call to pharm for some stat Diflucan... @_@ Bacon is kinda...sandpapery... ya know? island emt Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Isn't nitrate a vasodilator?.... I Said NITRITES which are commonly used in curing raw meat to inhibit pathogens, they also cause cellular constriction of the tissue. http://www.extension.umn.edu/distribution/nutrition/DJ0974.html

LOL I misread nitrite as nitrate, I would say "ah yes nitrite has an oxidation state of one less than nitrate" but that might send our Emergentologist back into the corner on the floor hiding from the demons of basic science ....
Richard B the EMT Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Begs the question, Which is less expensive, nitrates or day rates? 1
Chief1C Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 I don't know what makes me more sick; the fact that I just ate something with bacon.. Or all this Under Down Under talk. All I can picture is the beached whale and the pelican.
paramedicmike Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Begs the question, Which is less expensive, nitrates or day rates? Ok. This is funny. I actually laughed out loud.
