When to cut

Lol.....i think i can count the times ive cut clothing off with 1 hand this year......ive always tried to only do it when i absolutely must!yes we might think its a "tatty" shirt,but it might be their ONLY shirt!i did once go to a homeless person,didnt take him in,but gave him a cup of tea from my flask and 2 blankets......yes i really am that soft!

I cut when the injury warrants, or if i need to visualize. I used to be hesitant to cut, but once you take a patient to a trauma center or a decent ER, and traumatic injury the hospital staff is just going to cut it all off anyway, might as well save them some time

If it isnt in your way. Dont cut it. If its feasible to have your patient remove the article of clothing impeding your care. Dont cut it. If their is no reason to cut it, Dont cut it.

If cutting off clothing is going to make it easier for me to do my job, or improves patient care by reducing pain or allowing more working space, it comes off. I don't really put much thought into it.
