Hello All!

I am new here, I am currently in the Navy stationed in Seattle, WA. I have been an EMT-B/IV since 2008 and have my CPR/BLS certs as well. I am currently on my way out of the Navy and will be moving to Las Vegas. I am looking for jobs there but really cant find any. I am going to attend EMT-I school in June and then move on to my Paramedic hopefully. Im 22 and have been in the Navy for 3 years now.

Do you guys know of any good EMT job websites besides 911hotjobs, Indeed.com, Craigslist?

Thanks for the help, and im glad to be a part of this forum!

Welcome.

Good luck in your job quest. The problem in the civilian world is that EMTs are a dime a dozen. With that the economic laws of supply and demand come into play. EMTs are replaceable at the drop of a hat in many organizations. The trick in many areas isn't necessarily finding employment. It's finding employment with a reputable company that takes its role in health care seriously.

What about using your GI bill to go to college and then into something like PA or medical school?

Thank you for the reply! I completely understand where you are coming from, similar to the military they can replace people quickly so you kind of have to be on the ball to keep your job. I have looked into med school but i feel more like the EMS side of things intrigues me more. Thats why i wanted to be get my paramedic. I also want to move on to the fire service. I have been working towards it for a while, I was a fire explorer with Colorado Springs FD and a volunteer firefighter as well. I feel like having my Paramedic will greatly increase my chances of getting on with an FD. Thing is too you cant run 911 in Vegas unless your atleast an EMT-I, which sucks but its understandable.

I plan on using the GI BIll for the Paramedic and EMT-I school though
