Do many ambulance companies and FDs offer TA?

I've never heard of it, some Fire Departments require you to become a Paramedic because their evil snake union is trying to pad numbers and justify their usurpant existence will send you to Paramedic school e..g. Houston, LACo or Dallas Fire but they send you to a patch factory (Dallas and LACo are 24 weeks, Houston is 16, yes 16 weeks from zero to Paramedic).
