FILE - This undated file photo provided by the U.S. Coast Guard shows the HMS Bounty, a 180-foot sailboat, submerged in the Atlantic Ocean during Hurricane Sandy approximately 90 miles southeast of Hatteras, N.C., Monday, Oct. 29, 2012. The U.S. Coast Guard on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 halted its search for 63-year-old Robin Walbridge, the captain of the tall ship that sank off the North Carolina coast during Hurricane Sandy after more than three days of around-the-clock effort. I read in another article covering this story that they believed the ship would be safer at sea maneuvering around the storm instead of in port getting hammered by the storm surge, high tide and winds.

That makes sense but in the end they were really really wrong. But I dont think they would have been right either way.
