They should all be privatized in my opinion, yeah, even the police.

I'm unaware of anything that the federal gov is involved in that isn't ill managed, over staffed, and financed with a ridiculously bloated budget and a near absence of working checks and balances...

If everyone could be trusted to do the right thing, then in theory, this makes sense. Unfortunately history has well proved that the federal govt isn't staffed mostly by those that would do the right thing, but by almost no one focused on doing the right thing...

This is liberal politics at it's most dangerous...

(Not sniping at you Brother..I think it's an excellent question. Sharing my general opinion only.)

This is similar to a petition that is flowing around the red states to secede from the nation.

A classic case of loose screws trying to get press time. No practical app;ication. but it stirs the rabble up.

Just look at how well FEMA Did with all the resources they had at their disposal during Katrina and the time leading up to it.

Look at what happens when any thing privatized get's ahold of by the government.

Come on, not much good happens (there are notable exceptions) when a private group of entities becomes federalized.

If we federalized the public safety like Dwayne said, I could foresee a group of people that would take over the leadership of the department and totally FU($%(* it up and if you think Detroit EMS is bad, then you aint seen nothing yet.

Not no, but HELL NO!!!!

Sorry about that, but there is nothing that convinces me the the federal government can handle it. Too much buracracy, red tape, mis-coordination and a few other negative points. I don't see budgeting or a future under control of Uncle Sam.
