ERDoc Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 I'm still stuck on the fact that there are firefighters here... Only because the EEOC says we cannot discriminate on the basis of mental capacity. I joke, I joke. I love all of you FFs, especially when you bring us pizza on a busy shift. Quote

I currently am a two hatter dual role, although EMS is almost 90% of our call volume. Every now & then we have to play hosers. Quote

island emt Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 (edited) We don't get many opportunities to fight major fires like some departments. however the fire side has taken on many other duties such as smells & bells as alarm calls are called. also car crashes and flooded basements. Fortunately with increased building codes and better inspections, along with a large amount of the really old firetraps being long gone , there are a lot fewer structure fires. Most of ours are tied to wood stoves & chimney fires. But EMS has been a fire based commodity here for decades. Edited December 10, 2012 by island emt Quote

Just Plain Ruff Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I think that once the world ends and those of us left behind in certain pockets of the planet that was not destroyed, we have to start over. Who wants to be my 2nd in command? I already have my command post picked out. I have enough supplies scouted out that our new UTOPIA should last another hundred years or so. Plus all the cheezit's and soda that you can stomach. I've got a core group of people who can make sure all amenities are taken care of. You just have to provide for your family and contribute to the collective. And no we will not call ourselves the Borg. Everyone will have a say in how things are done. Quote

Shouldn't this read "Every now & then we have to play with our hoses" Quote
