it rocks, i'm from RI too and it was very interesting and you're taking the class with mostly ER Docs and Trauma Surgerons. it has a boat load of CEU's too. worth it.

MIEMSS-Maryland offers ATLS in Baltimore. GREAT class-even as an auditor. Sign up as a medic. If anyone is dual RN/Medic-sign in as a medic!!! You get to do all the skills on a human cadaver. RN's play with chest tubes and practice setting up-medics get to actually nput them in. Great class-worth the money and CCBEMS/Nat. REg. recognizes the class for recert CEU's.

A part of my ACP program was to audit the ATLS program and, I found it to be a very big waste of time. Not only is the text book very poorly written the pure fact that I had to sit through two 12 hour days and watch as docs from all walks of life were taught A, B, C, D, and E was absolutely mind numbing! One positive to the course was the animal lab. Overall - waste of time and money.
