Hi all, name is Chris and I'm a Ambulance Officer (Student Paramedic) in Perth, Western. I was a military medic for 15 years prior to starting this job, and its amazing how much I'm learning and how different it is compare to the military. Looking forward to reading some of the interesting information on this forum.

Welcome to the city Chris.

Perth is a great place to be from.

We visited there for a couple weeks back in 1976 when we were stationed up the coast at Exmouth.

Thanks for the warm welcome. The differences are both good and bad, as both have different ways to do the same job. The military focus a lot of their training on trauma related jobs. Where, Civil ambulance focus on the medical side of the fence more. I do believe it is great having the military background as it has given me a great set of building blocks to become a better paramedic.
