Firstly I would just like to say how much of a great idea this site is. I have been reading a few of the 'scenario' forum posts and have found some of the methods and some peoples approaches not only educating but very interesting. I am primarily a close protection officer and am a part time BLS volunteering during the weekend.

I live in Cape Town, South Africa. I am very much looking forward to getting to know some of the sites members and learning from the experiences of others.

What is a close protection officer? is that like a bodyguard or something like that?

cool. So having your emt or medic might not be a bad idea if you are guarding someone who might get shot at then right?

Care to tell us anything about your job, what type of people you bodyguard for?

Thats the idea Captain. Apart from that I really do enjoy volunteering on the ambulances here in Cape Town, you really get to see some interesting things. I cannot really elaborate on the clients I have looked after for obvious reasons, but most are American or European business people.

I figured as such. So you provide bodyguard protection for business people who need it when they travel to SA then. Cool.
