Kim_EMS Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 I am looking into some programs in the Tempe area. So far, I see: Arizona Academy of Emergency Service with option for a degree through Waldorf Phoenix College Glendale CC and Paradise Valley CC Does anyone have any insight in any of these institutions? *BTW: I'm new. NREMT-B, EMT-B Minnesota. Currently in school in MN for a EMS degree and pre-Paramedic student.
SWA_EMT Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Mesa CC has an awesome program. I'd highly recommend it. Just recently graduated & got my medic through them. AAES - Not horrible...I've got several friends who've gone through it. Can't really say anything bad about it.. Phoenix CC - Don't know too many people who've gone through that program. Glendale CC - Pretty cool program....If they're still there, Chris Coughlin & Paula Davis are awesome instructors! PV CC - Tends to do a combined Southwest Ambulance/PVCC program. Theirs is a "hybrid" system where you do more online than in class.... All in all, AZ medic programs are kind of a "you get what you pay for" deal. If you work for an agency, check into the possibility of an in-house program (there are some agencies that do this i.e.: Southwest Ambulance, PMT, some FD's).
paramedicmike Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) The program you pick should be listed as accredited on this site. It it is not listed as accredited then please find a program that is. And welcome. Edited November 25, 2013 by paramedicmike
