My mother-in-law, Isabel Garcia, lost her battle with breast cancer tonight. She was a NYS EMT for almost 10 years. She was also an RN who worked dialysis for more years than I have been alive. She died peacefully with family at her side. RIP Issy, take a signal 5, we'll take it from here.

Thank you everyone. Island, my MIL was never really known for her timing, lol. Besides Thanksgiving, my wife and I have our birthdays in the next few days.

I know what you mean Doc.

My wifes brother got KIA in Afghanistan on his sisters wedding anniversary.

needless to say they don't celebrate on that day any longer.

I cannot tell you how many people I've either taken care of who have died on someone in their families special dates or on their own special date.

Had a patient who died on his wedding anniversary which was also his birthday. Kind of sucked for his wife and family.

But you dont' get to punch your own ticket you know.
