But asking can spark discussion and debate. In my experience, both docs are very open to providers calling or e-mailing them with questions and discussing issues or new research.

Though this may be true, they still have to cater to the lowest common denominator.

In NJ they are allowed to "assist" the patient in using thier's still but they did drop Basic from their title LOL Now they are just EMTs.

Is there a law requiring you to stop at MVA if your empty and out of your jurisdiction?

Now to get back to where this topic started from: Where I am at, there are no laws that I am aware of that require an on duty EMS crew, that is not 911, to stop and assist in that situation. Most of the EMS systems that I am familiar with have policies that require EMS crews to stop and assist, some of them require transportation, if necessary, but usually they would have to wait until an on-duty 911 EMS crew to arrive at the scene.

Even if there were no such policies, common decency would essentially require them to stop and assist. If I am off duty, not in my ambulance, then I have no such requirement. What I would do in that situation, as an off-duty paramedic, is simply act as a good observer and call 911.

Welcome to the City, Akulahawk. One difference you will find between this site and the other one you come from is that our admin here is not nearly as anal and lets conversions take their normal path, even if it goes completely off the original topic, with minimal locking of threads. You seem like someone we'd enjoy having here so please, stick around and contribute.

The good Doctor is correct. Admin really does a good job with site management from a content perspective. (This is not to say he doesn't do a good job with other aspects of site management... because he does.) I believe such limited moderative meddling, as opposed to other topic discussion forums, is an asset.

Sure, discussions get interesting from time to time but so does life. It's not always unicorn tears and rainbows.

So jump in. Have fun.

I want some of those unicorn tears and rainbows. Where do I get them at?

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
