Crackils Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Hello everyone I have questions and I hope that I am posting these in the correct place. I am 20 years of age, live in the US, have an okay job, full time student, want to move out and start a career asap. After some time of looking at schools and a long term career I find it that I want to be apart of a Fire dept. one day. I want to become an EMT then Paramedic along side of volunteer services. My questions: Should I go to a Community College to study for EMT? Or go to a private school? I have been looking at this place called West Coast EMT: http://www.westcoastemt.com/ I plan on going to an interview this coming Monday to look at the school and see how I like it. What kind of questions should I ask to be sure that this school is 100% legit and not a scam? Any recommendations for me?? I appreciate your time in reading this and responding if you decide to do so. I do not know anyone in the EMT field to ask personally so maybe one of you can. Best Regards-
mobey Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Sorry for the confusion: But do you want to be in healthcare or fire protection? 1

Just Plain Ruff Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I think until the OP decides Fire or EMS, then he/she will be forever confused.
DwayneEMTP Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 The course that you posted appears to be about the same amount of time as a college course. My guess is that you wouldn't find a ton of difference betwen them. And the money seems to be about the same, at least when compared to what I paid for my EMT, but that's been a long time ago.. Looks like you won't go too far wrong with either decision Brother...
