I'm moving from PA to FL soon and want to pursue EMS once I've moved. My question is do you have to be national reg. or can I transfer my medic from PA to FL. I know there is a $45 fee, and I was told by someone that I still have to challenge the state test. If anyone knows this to be the case please let me know. Thank you

I bet the Florida Office of EMS can help answer that question for you. You may need to call them for additional information about transferring in from PA.

MTA: Coincidentally, the page I linked answers both of your questions. It was also pretty easy to find.

All the best on your move.

Actually, if you are NREMT, you don't have to challenge the state test. I asked about that. My wife and I are looking into possibly moving to Florida so I began to check into it as well. The State Bureau of EMS told me that if you have a current NREMT certification, you can simply apply and pay the $45. If you only have a state license, then you have to pay $75 and challenge the state exam. I'm taking the NREMT in April in St louis because I'm an idiot and let it go. The NREMT cert is good in nearly all 50 states.

Hope that helps!
