Please list "one" piece of equipment you used back in the day, that the youngsters have never seen --- or a piece of equipment you have today that you did not have when you started in EMS? I will list a few to get the ball rolling:

1. We had the Life-Pak 1 (no pacing or 12 Lead), weighed a ton.

2. No pediatric sized anything.

3. "M" sized oxygen tanks (i think tanks are sized differently today, but it was about 5 feet tall, and had to be lifted into and stored under the squad bench),

What do you use for oxygen tanks now? H/Q? M is still a tank size here, 122 cubic feet.

Let's see if anyone who has been doing this job for less than 30 years knows what these are....

Those are I believe hangars from the cieling of your ambulance to hang a third stretcher so you can transport a third patient. Our Braun Ambulance had one of those setups. Used it one time and the lady below the patient above her freaked and we had to call a 2nd ambulance to transport the one being suspended.

Does anyone still have a EOA on their rigs?

I have a hand suction device that was basically a tire pump looking device with a metal canister to collect the spooge.

I remember when we got radio's installed so we didn't have to go to use a payphone to call in and get our next dispatch. Boss even painted radio dispatched on the sides of the Meteor miller caddy ambulances.

He also owned the local Funeral home.

How many of the kids today have ever even used a payphone?
