MP-EMT22 Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Has anyone gone through the online ccemt-p course offered through Creighton University? How was your experience with the provided material? What text did you feel suited the course best? What was the clinical portion like?
island emt Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Will your state accept the course for licensing would be the first question I'd ask
MP-EMT22 Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 Im am looking for someones personal experience with the course. Im not looking for a state cert/lic. If you didnt take the course, thats not what im looking for.
Just Plain Ruff Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I'm interested as well. I don't really care if I use it for certification, I just want to get the class materials and info.
chbare Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 CCEMTP is an official course through UMBC. Certain institutions have agreements in place to teach CCEMTP as an extension of UMBC. This online course is NOT a CCEMTP course and you will NOT be able to take the CCEMTP exam or obtain the credential upon completing the online course. Not saying the course is bad but it's completely inaccurate to say it is a CCEMTP course. Again, CCEMTP is NOT a generic term that means critical care paramedic. http://ehs.umbc.edu/CE/CCEMT-P/ 1
Just Plain Ruff Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 So Chris, would the online course be beneficial to take? Your thoughts. Has anyone gone through the online ccemt-p course offered through Creighton University? How was your experience with the provided material? What text did you feel suited the course best? What was the clinical portion like? OK Just a caveat, when you provide a link, like the one provided in this post, make sure that you check that link for correctness. I just clicked on it and it took me to a amazon.com link for some sort of lip balm. Creighton University isn't even a approved site to provide the CCEMTP
Just Plain Ruff Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 so now that I find out that the link in the original post is to some lip balm I'd like to see if anyone has the real link. And here it is http://ems.creighton.edu/pages/critical-care-paramedic-online
MP-EMT22 Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 (edited) CCEMTP is an official course through UMBC. Certain institutions have agreements in place to teach CCEMTP as an extension of UMBC. Im looking for someones personal experience. And if you did have that experience, you would have known what the course involves. Didnt answer my question. Edited July 15, 2014 by MP-EMT22
paramedicmike Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I think if anyone who frequents this site had an answer for you you would've gotten it. That's an opinion. Part of the problem is that you're asking if people have taken a specific course from an entity not licensed to teach the specific course you mentioned. Your description only further muddies the water as it sounds like the course for which you're looking for information is an exam prep course instead of the UMBC CCEMTP. These are facts. Ultimately, your question is still unanswered. However, I hope you have a better understanding that what you're actually asking and what you think you're asking are two completely separate things. All the best in your quest.
