joe21 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Hi, i've been in EMT-B class for about three months now, and am going on my first clinical tomorrow. Seeings how i've decided to look for reason not to stress so much over this. haha. So, what im asking, is for any and all advice i can get for tomorrow? Thanks.
paramedicmike Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Keep your eyes open. Keep you mind open. Keep your mouth shut until the appropriate time to ask questions. If you have to go to the bathroom go. If you get hungry find some food (keep something in your pocket in case you're busy and don't get a chance to get food). Talk to the guys you're riding with at the beginning of your shift and find out what they expect from you. Have fun with it.
island emt Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 what Mike said ^^^^^ keep a small notebook in your pocket and write down all the things you don't understand so you can ask about or look them up later. Shut off your cell phone, no texting or annoying ring tones while working. 1
Violyn Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Keep busy. Don't sit and "chill". If there's nothing to do, ask someone if they need help with something. Be eager (but not annoying). 1
