emmabass Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Does anyone have any recommendations or know of an accelerated EMT-Basic course near the Washington D.C. area?
Just Plain Ruff Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 (edited) Accelerated EMT courses you get out of them what you put in them. Why the hurry? Why waste time - just go this route - https://www.emtfiretraining.com/emt-b-course.php zero to hero in less than 30 seconds. One of their requirements Safely administer medications (the student should safely, and while performing all steps of each procedure, properly administer medications at least 15 times to live patients) Let's hope they are live patients - can't give meds to dead patients. emt2359 Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Depends on what is considered accelerated. Is it over 2 months instead of 4?
cekuriger Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 It's hard to accelerate a course that's already only a semester long. I usually don't take people too seriously when they start asking about accelerations, because that tells me their education isn't that important to them. EMT class is too short, as it is at the moment, and paramedic school is even worse; so take the semester-long course, and soak up EVERY bit of information squeezed into it.
