Has anyone had any experience working in the far north? I have a job offer from a company called Ken Borek Air. They are based out of alberta and are hiring for the province of Nunavut.

If anyone has any experience with this company or working in that area could you please share it?

I have worked in the arctic and I actually enjoyed it. However, I have no knowledge of the area or company you are referring to since it is in Canada. If you have any questions with regards to the arctic and unique situations I have encountered, feel free to ask. I still have some nice gear to sell if you are interested...lol.

I am still in the stage of getting my certificates transferred and all I really know is that they want me to go up for three weeks and fly medivac missions out of Iqaluit on a Beech Plane. They are offereing to pay my way up there and all my expenses.

I am very interested to hear about your experiences working in the arctic.

Go.

Go now.

If you turn this down it will be the worst mistake of your life.

An even bigger mistake than marriage.

I worked all across the high arctic for almost 10 years.

There is no where in the world like it.

Iqaluit is a shithole, but oh well.

Go.

Seriously.

If you have any specific questions, PM me.

Ken Borek Air:

They have an excellent reputation, very dedicated pilots and providers for more than 30 years, they were "THE" group called upon to do a rescue FOR the U.S. Military in the Antarctic a few years ago for a woman with breast cancer.

If you want a 9 to 5 job then its not for you go back to 30 minute calls.

This can be a very challenging position, at times up to 10 hours in a King Air.

Your only question should be are YOU good enough!

Iqaluit is not shithole, many good friends to be made and there is much to learn about the culture.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

My friend:

Holly Lumb RN, Paramedic, +++++++!

I KNOW SHE WOULD TELL YOU Go and don't look back.

SHE WAS TRULY ONE OF MY HERO'S.

If Les Cleverly needs a hand, I will go.
