At the Hospital service where I work we carry Motorola HT-1250's with the heavy duty lapel mics. One problem, it's summertime so if it's real hot I don't wear my captains shirt with the shoulder epaulets but wear a duty t-shirt. There is nothing to latch my mic on with my T-shirt and was wondering if there was some product that someone knows of or maybe someone else uses that our service could look into getting to hold the mic so it doesn't pull my t-shirt down and basically get in my frig gen way!! Thanks.....623

Sorry about the whacker bit.....

I'm impressed... I didn't even know that PRPG was a true whacker!

Do a google search for FDNY radio straps with stabilizer bar. Should work for what you need it for.

Thanks for the help...looks like that will work....623

Never thought of myself as a whacker--but I have one of the straps like the one on firestore (where I bought mine)--the chest strap thing looks uncomfortable and police whacker like...but I digress...

Bought it for the reason you need one...t shirt weather down south (Do you know what 100% humidity all day and night is like? I do!)

It works ok--but don't wear it with a light colored shirt--the leather bled through. We also carry the 1250---Wouldn't it be nice to have a lighter radio???

I have and use the FDNY Radio strap and I love it. I added an EMS radio holster instead of the fire one, so it can hold gloves, and those F@$&*g pens I always lose. Wackerish? Slightly. Useful? Highy. Recommend it? Damn skippy!

My County uses EF Johnson "Bricks" - I wear a New York strap so the radio dosen't:

a) Fall off my belt

 Pull my pants down

It works for me... I also leave it in the rig until we leave station.

And yes... you NEED the stabilizer strap... it keeps you from smacking folks in the face when you are putting them on the backboard
