Can somebody help me? I just hired on part-time with Acadian for their venture across the Sabine River into Texas. Their protocols are what I'd call 'cookbook'. I noticed some of the supervisors wearing an EBR rocker close to their NREMT-P patch. They apparently have to pass a protocol test to work in East Baton Rouge Parish, and this is the source of pride (or an opportunity to add decoration to their Class B Army shirts). I'd like to compare these protocols with what I am using at my full time job. I suspect they are similar. Does anyone have them as an adobe document?

Your not missing out on much, there has never been a tremendous difference, both are cookbook methods with minimal standards above the national bar. I was wondering how Acadian's protocols would be once they crossed "the river". I don't know if they still use state protocols, but if they do, their Texas operation will need to improve them greatly or write a completely different set......................

EBR protocol test = way for EBR to make money off of Acadian

Took the test way back, was pretty much a joke. Lots of tension back then between Acadian and EBR. Acadian was not allowed to run ALS in the parish other then Air Med. When they were allowed to run ALS, there were many stumbling blocks put up, the so called "protocol test" being one of them.

Just another exampl of of politics creeping into EMS.
