annoying titles

whats everyones most annoying dumbed down name youve been called, ive brunted 'ambulance driver' and 'attendent' the most.any others that make you twitch a little?

I personally get fired up when people say that an EMT-B is nothing but an ambulance driver. Let them go without us for awhile and see how they do.

NREMT-IL - There is already a thread based on that concept. I think this was meant to be more general, as in the publics perception not the jokes or insults from within the profession.

When I am on the ambulance, the term fireman gets me even though I am and we are "fire" based.

Firefighter gets me too, only because it says "paramedic" in at least three places on ye olde uniforme

taxi! the most expensive one ever. ive also been asked quite a few times 'whats your other job?' to which i usually reply that i rob graves

I have been called orderly more times than I can remember, even though I always introduce my self as a nurse and I have to wear a name tag with big black letters that say nurse. I am more amused than annoyed by this.

I hate it when the news media calls us 'Emergency Workers' . I would very much like the opportunity to call them 'Telemedia Workers' in a public forum.

I was once asked by a pts daughter, "Are you a resident or a real doctor?" To which I replied "Yes." They seemed satisfied with that and we moved on.
