New CPR Guidelines

Hello fellow EMT city people!!!

i have been out of the loop as far as EMS and i only do one shift a week and i barely do anything on that shift...i am clueless when it comes down to the new CPR guidelines that AHA came out with!!! could you please explain them to me!!! thanks

Do you not need to do a new CPR course to be certified in the new guidelines?

Simple .. www.americanheart.org Now go to CPR training, you can watch the videos.. etc. Then take a refresher class!

Yeah you have to get recertified in CPR to practice the new guidelines, but my certification is new as of less than a year ago, so...

so......that means you redo the course and learn the new updated material regardless of when you were last certified.

We do it all the time in this field.

I know I know. I was just complaining. I got my cert right as they were undergoing changes.

They've been undergoing changes since the new guidelines came out in December 2005.

It's good they make people take the course again since it is obvious by this site that some people are not capable of educating themselves.
