NOPE no requirement at all. But they do require the disaster classes from Fema.

Awareness is required state wide. Most places might require you to have ops. Depending on your departments abilities and location of certain companies, such as textile plants, water treatment... the requirements may go up.

True. I'd guess that knowing how much, and/or how many potential areas where a HazMat team might be needed in one's service area would help in the agency's assessment of themselves, in what level of training they would want or potentially need to maintain.

We have minimum Haz Mat Awareness. Refresh every year
