Well, I did it. 2 more shifts in the desert then I start here in Bakersfield. I guess thats urban

Looking forward to a much higher call volume and the faster pace. No it definately aint the big city but a hell of a lot bigger than Ridgecrest Ca.

good luck! I did it too... the 3rd service I worked for had a record-setting year last year- 800 calls! I now work in a system of somewhere around 200,000 calls a year! It can seem a little overwhelming at first, but you will get the hang of it in no time!

Hey good luck Ed. Your right, Bakersfield isn't the big city, but you'll get a pretty high call volume and plenty of good experience. When I worked east Bakersfield in the 90's we would usually run 15-20 (all 911) calls in a 24 hour shift. You'll learn alot and have a great time ('til you get burned out).

If you're interested, I can show you a place where you can work in the desert and still have a high patient volume! :D

Hay CHiP, wassup!? :salute:

Medic from my Ridgecrest station will be doin the Vegas thing shortly, and I believe one of our just finished interns is heading that way too.

Gonna be nice to cut out that 100+ mile commute.

Hey CHP, Im shooting for the east side nights, I think they start stabbing each other around 7 or 8 most evenings. I interviewed with Surface the other day and finished all the physical crap yesterday. Really looking forward to the change.
