That was a long time ago… Well all went well! We ended having 4 advanced first aiders (US equivalent of an EMT-B) We treated 36 patients over the 3 days of those we had 8 go down with minor heat stress and one with sever dehydration. We had 3 paramedic transports (1 urgent) and 1 referred to the local ED. 300 band aid requests, 3 liters of sunscreen and 1000 bottles of water and plenty of hydrolyte. Saturday night we had a minor security situation, ending up having a group of 16 and 17 years olds throwing there guts up from drinking to much alcohol (alcohol free event) nothing the police couldn’t have handle. We were the only first aid people there, no EMS although the paramedics were only a phone call away.

Facility and equipment wise we had a massive room with 2 massive air conditioners, a fridge, sink with hot + cold water, beds and the all important TV! We were all commed up with security and event staff. We had an ATV and golf buggy.

The event is sponsored by quiet a large Australian Insurance Company that insured us with Public Liability ($5 Million), Professional Indemnity ($5 Million), Products Liability ($5 Million), Capital Benefits (Death and total disablement $70,000), Medical Benefits (non Medicare costs up to $1,200) It was all in writing and singed by the appropriate people.
