MedicRN Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 I'll start by saying that you labeled yourself a village idiot in your profile not me , but you have now proved it as well. I suggest you read all my post before becoming a drama queen. Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black (no offense, AK). I will be the very first medic on here to tell you that there are people with way more experience and BTDT military experience than me Some members of my unit are members here as well. There are plenty of examples of people I have developed respect for Asysin2leads and Dust devil are two examples. Yes, the military Health Services Branch does more and has seen more than any of us put together, but they can also tell you that being a medic in the military doesn't mean jack crap in the civilian world (been there, yada yada). Civilian and military are VERY RARELY interchangeable. Rescue 911 was a show you would never see me on. Good!! I'd hate to have to defend EMS's black eye to my civilian and military superiors. From now on why dont you stick to your business and let the person I addressed originally in my last posts make their own argument. He is sticking to his business...... but he doesn't need me to defend him...................
akflightmedic Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Akayakmedic: I'll start by saying that you labeled yourself a village idiot in your profile not me , but you have now proved it as well. I suggest you read all my post before becoming a drama queen. Its AKflightmedic, not the kayak medic you wrote trying to insult me.(again refer to my previous post about hurling insults due to inferiority complex). I did not make a play on your name so dont insult mine. The village idiot description serves 2 purposes. 1- I do not take myself too seriously and can laugh at myself, prevents you from getting a big head and keeps you humble. 2-tniuqs, a member who I have great respect for, labeled himself the village idiot's helper, so I decided to make myself the idiot. He is a great guy. Roughneck, beerdrinking, intelligent motherf'er..funny too. Drama queen eh? Another insult, very intelligent. I did not address you in my last post. If you feel the need to defend other people here on the forum then good for you. This is an open forum, I can chime in anytime I feel it is relevant. As for defending anyone, that was not my intent. My intent was to defend EMS overall, as your attitude is horrible and does nothing to promote ourselves in a positive light. I will be the very first medic on here to tell you that there are people with way more experience and BTDT military experience than me Some members of my unit are members here as well. There are plenty of examples of people I have developed respect for Asysin2leads and Dust devil are two examples. I agree, they are great guys No I wont go into my education or other credentials. But know that Im satisfied working for the greater good (military and civilian jobs) I am satisfied and hope to never get any credit or recognition for any work I do. Nor do I brag about anything. Rescue 911 was a show you would never see me on. Dont care about your education or credentials..all I asked is what have you done for EMS lately. Re read your posts and tell me where you did not start throwing your experience around, aka bragging and belittling the general population. Instead of putting them down, raise them to your level. That is a sign of a great person, when they do not fear having others on their level and work on bringing them up to that level. If you had read my posts before donning your drama queen crown you would have seen that I feel nearly the same way about physicians/nurses on an ambulance as you do. I didnt really challenge your stance about docs on ambualnces, I was adressing others that had negative reviews. However I did challenge your attitude, it needs a major check. You are quite hung up on yourself. And again, you carry on with the insults. From now on why dont you stick to your business and let the person I addressed originally in my last posts make their own argument. SOMEDIC My business is anything to do with these forums. My business is to promote EMS as a profession and raise the bar so that we get the recognition we deserve. My business is to sometimes defend some people on this site when egotistical, arrogant, cocky individuals get all high and mighty and spew BS upon them. My business is to post anytime I feel like it. So to address your statement, I think I did stick to my business.
somedic Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Medic RN: Thanks for further distracting from the original subject of this thread. its great that you can mount an offensive against me here and concieve such witty little cut downs. Being a so-called "nurse officer" in the CAP gives you no insight in to military medicine no more than being a physical therapist prepares you to be a brain transplant surgeon. Civilian vs military interchangability? Depends on what you mean. Im in both arenas. Again how would you know? Instead of trying to satisfy your ego by trying to get me...why dont you tell us what a CAP nurse officer can add to this discussion in the way of Physicians in the field. Well Done! SOMEDIC
DwayneEMTP Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Dewayne EMTB: To begin with If you are not a 17 year nationally registered paramedic in an aggressive EMS system and if you have never been deployed with several military units to several countries and practiced in austere enviroments..You are outside of your capability radius...to put it another way...you are out of your league in any dealings with me on this forum. Dont test my resolve. Or you will what....hold your breath until I give in? Beat me up via email? Quite that kind of talk...it's silly. Besides, we've had that same pedigree read to us by people that have never seen the inside of an ambulance. If you're for real, God bless you, but I've seen no sign of it so far. For the rest of you: If you go review my posts, I've indicated that there are certain times an EMS physician that knows the system well and can function without egomania would be an asset in some incidents but in a well established system this would be a rare occurrence. I did look through some of your posts and didn't see it. (well, one post that I'll bet even you won't hold up as evidence of this point) And what additional requirements would you like Death Doctor to have before you consider her worthy? I'm sure she's tapping her foot, waiting on your approval. There are those of you that would be inclined to say that I'm the one with Egomania/Para God syndrome, but you would be wrong. I knew at an early age that I wanted to be a Paramedic. I believe in all EMS systems reaching their full operating potential. Then how do you explain your "Doctor Death medicine woman" comment? It seems she is working to help her system progress. Once again, you on the other hand chose to blow off AK's questions...leading me, and many others I'm sure to wonder why you run when asked simple things. I can't think of another paramedic on the board that would have backed down from that with silly insults instead of valid information. AK didn't so much come to my defence use us as an example to show that you're being an ass. If you have the experience you claim, then when can we hope to benefit from it in a medical way? As I review your posts there is example after example of you attempting to be a bully (long uphill climb on the internet) but I didn't find a single example of your proclaimed prowess in regards to medicine. Dust, Asys, Rid, and many others may sometimes choose to knock our wee wees in the dirt but NEVER without backing it up morally, professionally, medically and/or ethically. You choose to just say "your icky 'cause I say so"...That just doesn't wash. I'm a student...I've never claimed to be anything else...I use my real name instead of hiding behind a username, and as far as not belonging on the forums with you...? When you start to talk medicine I'll give you the respect you may decide to deserve, until then, I'm going to do what I can to keep my mouth shut and let the people that are here to teach and share, instead of strut and blow, get back to what they do best. Sorry to everyone for being a dick and not letting this die..I promise to try and do better now... Have a great day all! Dwayne
somedic Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Dewayne: Good response. I dont run from any one on this forum. If AK really wanted a question answered he would get that. Im not a bully as you suggest. I do point out things other people may think but never say. Proclaimed prowess? What the hell are you talking about...keep reading or reread...Im not into bragging. Dont mistake a mindset different than for "self proclaimed prowess" If you read my posts correctly you would have got an insight into what Im really like. Im glad to see you respond back to me..it shows you are not a push over. I see no reason to keep this dispute ongoing. My points are valid whether you think my attitude is justified or not.

I believe in all EMS systems reaching their full operating potential. To my Aussie Friends: Ive worked with some of your troops before. (I doubt they are your friends after the way you've talked to them in this post) I can say thank you for your participation in GWOT. (GWOT is that anything like GWAR? GWAR is cool, just like you!!) SOMEDIC I can't believe someone actually proved the point Kerry was trying to make.

Doctor Death Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 This is not directed at everyone mainly to somedic, I’m assuming you’re a paramedic? I don’t care if your intensive care, trauma officer, critical care paramedic or what ever. The point being you’re a paramedic, you’re at the bottom of the food chain, in a long line of health care professionals. You as a paramedic are the initial pre hospital care provider; you have nothing to do with in-hospital care, your job is to get the patient on the cot and get the patient to hospital as quick as you can nothing more nothing less. I have been a doctor for longer than you’ve been alive. Your not trained in the on going care of a patient, your there to scrap them off the foot path and bring them in, if you have trouble brining them in then you call on us. Being a paramedic you are trained to a certain level. You’ve stated that you have a lot of experience in a progressive EMS system, mate if you haven’t treated a patient that requires more care than you can give then you really haven’t seen much. It’s ok to admit that you sometimes you have no idea what to do. Even now I still have to seek assistance from a professor as the patient is that injured that I have no idea what to do. Professors specialise in a certain area where as I generally treat a patient when they present. I have been a doctor for about 35 years, now a consultant and I still have no problem asking for help, heck sometimes even the nursing staff can help jog your memory. Ridryder 911- As for your comments about doctors not participating in the basics. I am different to most doctors, if time permits then I love setting up an I.V or changing the 02 cylinders I even know how to do hospital tucks. I think it important that doctor’s stay in contact with the basics and patient care is extremely important aswell. Most doctors find this out of the ordinary but I find it gives me better staff and patient relationships. Let me finish off with a immature and inappropriate comment: “if you think your so good, why don’t you become a doctor”!! As for everyone else, you guys seem like a real nice professional ‘down to earth’ bunch of grasshoppers. BTW, Grasshoppers is what we call medics were I’m from. Dunno why we just do Have a nice day all. PS, I do apologize if there a grammar mistakes, but I’m writing this very quickly in much ‘lunch break’ at 5:21PM lol.
Timmy Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Hehehe this post is rather amusing! Word or warning: Never Argue With A Doctor….
