I have never scene horse mounted EMS.

Can people stop saying horse mounted EMS.

Frankly I am not sure I want to see a horse mount anything.

However if you stated in EMS have I ever felt like I had been mounted by a horse. Then I would have to state yes.

Retired police horses...good choice my friend!

I was on my way to the call lights and whinny when my horse blew out a knee. We had to call another horse team for him and send another to respond to the accident. If only we had bought new horses D:

Im guessing that was a cheap shot at an otherwise sound statement on my half........

Police Mounts are retired after 5 to 7 years here, not because they are old and buggered, but because they need to be in order to keep the internal training mechanisms and knowledge exercised in the hands and heads of those that dispense it in the police service

But im sure you will provide the funding to buy, rare and train new horses right?

i am on my departments Mounted EMS crew. Would love to discuss training and other related items with anyone else who is on a Mounted EMS team

Hello my friend. I have kids younger than this thread. I would suggest starting a new thread to freshen the information and elicit a better response.

Welcome.

I have participated in ambulance responses (really?), been part of EMS foot patrols at special events, used my Personal Owned Vehicle (POV) as a makeshift first aid station at a foot race, was denied training for Cushman (brand) golf cart first response vehicles, and John Deere (brand) "Gator" (brand) 6 wheel ATV mini-ambulances for special events, know a few Segway riding Paramedic First Responders within a group of Special Event non-transport responders, and have a few friends who are EMT-B level First Responders within VACs that do special events on bicycle.

I do not know if one guy in Forest Hills VAC is still a member there, but he used his POH (Personally Owned Horse) for First Response at special events inside Forest Park, Queens, NY.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
