I agree with the theories that the alert is from electrical "pre-tone" sounds. My alarm clock and pager both do that. I think the human mind is able to pick up on so many cues that we consciously don't notice.

As far as the chemical/electrical antenna properties of the brain, thanks for putting that idea in my head. Now I will be awake before the pager goes off because I'll be up all night worried about brain cancer. :lol:

EyeDawn, although I don't agree with your theory as it's a little too "Outer Limits" for me, I wish it were true. Especially if it were possible to get a bucket to store a little time fluid. :wink:

I came home one day, tired, and just flopped back onto the bed. I must have drifted off, but I clearly hear the 'house alarm' buzzer sound (the one at the fire station, 5 miles from my house). I sat straight up, wide awake. 10 seconds later, the pager sounds for a call.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
