Ridryder 911 Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Want to know what a "real intubation" looks like?.. Here is a view what the land marks, cords should look like, albeit it is a lot closer than a usual intubation. Similar devices such as this is being tested in the field...
emtkelley Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Thanks for sharing that, Rid. I only saw a bit of it and am headed to my parents house later today to watch the rest. I can only get dialup and they have broadband!
Aggie EMT Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Awesome Video.... Extreme Close-Up!!!!!!!!! /wayne'sworld
vs-eh? Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Nice video. I saw the Glide Scope in action during my OR rotations. This video should outline to students nicely the variation in anatomy of the hypopharynx, glottis, laryngealpharynx, etc... And the experience with a good sampling of patients in a controlled environment (non-mannequin "patients"), prior to doing it "for real" on emergency patients. This is why you need to have OR intubations (at least 20) prior to preceptorship.
vivibonita Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 WOW!!! Makes me want to intubate someone... any volunteers?? 8)
AnthonyM83 Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 In Case C6, there seemed to be some random white mucousy membrane tissue strung across the left side...was it just ripped off by the tube? I know little about intubating, so just wondering if that was extra gunk or part of the airway.
iMac Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Waw, didnt realise it was that disgusting.
OzMedic Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Very interesting, I wonder what induction method was utilised as there seemed to be quite a bit of laryngospasm and gagging going on. Nice footage though!
EMSm0nster Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 That was an interesting. Was cricoid pressure used? I'm just a newbie...
