Southern Californians crack me up. Dude bites the big one right in front of this cop, and all he can do is calmly say, "Oh my god."

Anywhere else in the US, the cop would have been yelling, "F*CK ME!!!" :)

Little thing called shock and disbelief, Dust.

I think the only reason he had such a calm response was because the camera was there. Had there not been a camera there I'm sure there'd have been F-bombs dropped left and right.

I'm confused, though. How does this reference scene safety? The officer was in control of his scene and maintaining his safety as well as that of the two subjects in the vehicle. Safety for the cyclist is up to the cyclist. Safety for the driver of the other vehicle is up to that driver.

My take is that he put himself and the victim at unnecessary risk by having the driver move her vehicle to the curb, then copping a squat in the middle of the road like an idiot. First, there was NO reason to have them move their vehicle because it was not blocking the flow of traffic, unless he intended for the traffic to flow over him and the victim. And it was providing some measure of protection for him, had he left it in place. Not to mention, the AI team was likely none too pleased with the vehicle being moved prior to their arrival for no good reason.

So yeah, I totally see how this relates to scene safety, and ignorant disregard for same.

I'd fire him. :)
