What kind of IV tourniquets do you use?

I've seen a glove used before. I couldn't figure out why, at the time, he couldn't spend a couple extra seconds to grab a real tourniquet. But knowing most of the people and the mentality of that EMS I really wasn't surprised. I could see using one in a situation where you can't find your tourniquet and you needed a line asap, but usually a couple are carried on the truck as well as in trauma bags and IV start kits.

I like to use the blue ones but if I need a line and i just got a pressure i will use the cuff. I like to tie one of the blue ones on the center pole. Its easy to grab there when you need.

I usually use the blue commercial ones.

Tourniquet - used to cut off arterial blood flow. We use venus constricting bands when we start IVs, maintaining a radial pulse. Some words of my old paramedic instructor.

I like those older tan colored ones, but the blue ones aren't bad. I will use a BP cuff if it's a large arm, or smetimes when I already have the cuff on there.

I think I used a glove several times as a Navy Hospital Corpsman. Not after that, that I can think of though. Do the old penrose rains count as commercial?
